There is nothing worse than someone getting injured at an RC Helicopter event. In this case, The Star Online reports an 18 month old baby died and the baby’s father is seriously injured when a RC Helicopter went out of control in Seremban, the capital of the Malaysian state in Negeri Sembilan. A truly sad and unfortunate incident.
The RC Helicopter show was the gimmick to promote the country’s first synthetic pitch in the Paroi Sports Complex. In the video news footage it shows three helicopters hovering and one falling from the sky out of view.
Model aircraft retailers indicated that the helicopters used in the gimmick are difficult even for experts to fly and they should have never been flown over a crowd.
The 18-month-old Nurdamia Hasnina was sleeping on her father’s shoulder with the RC helicopter fell from the sky into the crowd. The child’s father, Banee Yamin Idris who was 35 suffered cuts on his head. The little girl passed away shortly after being admitted to the hospital
The flyer of the RC helicopter was detained as well as the helicopter and related equipment. A formal investigation has been ordered by Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
My condolences and prayers go to the father and family of the little girl.
It is unknown as to what type of helicopter was used or the maker of the helicopter. Despite my efforts I was unable to locate that information.
